Count litter to find the worst offenders
Which items of litter are most dropped by louts in Louth?
Take part in a new survey and find out!
The charity Keep Britain Tidy is launching England’s Great Litter Count to find out what companies’ brands produce the most litter.
For the first time ever, the charity is asking people to get involved with their annual survey. They want the public to help them count the types and brands of litter that blight communities.
The results will then be used to identify which brands create the most rubbish so the charity can put even more pressure on those companies to reduce the waste left by their customers.
Keep Britain Tidy’s Chief Executive Phil Barton said: “We need everyone’s eyes on the ground to help us find out what products are littered the most.
“People are fed up with littering, and love where they live. So we’re giving an outlet for their frustration, and asking them to arm us with the facts so we can work with those companies to keep England clean and green.”
To get involved visit www.keepbritaintidy.org/littercount. Volunteers can count litter wherever and whenever they like. It can be a high street, a housing estate, around a school or on the beach. The deadline is February 15. Keep Britain Tidy will then compile the data for their annual results.
