‘The Crafty Cows’ - a group of creative ladies and friends from villages around Louth have recently raised £1,255 for Macmillan.
Twice a month they come together to spend a day ‘crafting’ on lots of different projects, from sewing and crochet to decoupage and flower arranging.
They produce handstitched toys, jewellery, bags, home decorations, cards, patchwork and crochet blankets too.
After doing the ‘Race For Life’ earlier this year for Breast Cancer, the Crafty Cows decided they wanted to try raising more money by utilising their creativity.
So after hearing about Mccmillan’s ‘worlds largest coffee morning’ event, they set about making 100 crafts for a tombola stall, handstitched rabbits, jewellery and fairies to sell along side vast arrays of homemade cakes, coffee and tea.
The event was held at South Thoresby, and was very well attended on a beautiful sunny day, which resulted in them raising £1,255 or Macmillan.
The herd of crafters will be selling their beautifully hand crafted Christmas decorations, presents and jewellery at Doddington Hall in Lincoln on Sunday, November 3 and at Licolnshire showground’s, Epic Centre on Sunday, November 17.
A percentage of what is sold at these events will also go to a cancer charity.
