Overnight snow and freezing temperatures led to tricky driving conditions for motorists in the Louth and Mablethorpe areas this morning.

Lincolnshire Police have reported a number of minor road collisions caused by the weather.

Shortly after 9am officers attended a single car collision at the bottom of the hill between Ruckland and Tetford, near Louth.

According to the Met Office, people can expect more snow showers through the day with temperatures feeling ‘exceptionally cold’.

This afternoon the showers are likely to become less widespread and lighter but temperatures are unlikely to rise above freezing.

Tonight will be mostly dry with clear periods, after some early scattered mainly light snow showers with a widespread sharp frost.

On Tuesday more snow showers will gradually arrive after a dry start, mainly through the afternoon, and mostly light.
