Cyclist in critical condition after falling from bike at North Willingham

A cyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after he fell from his bike on the A631 at North Willingham on Tuesday.

This incident happened at about 10:50am and Lincolnshire Police say a cyclist riding with a group of other cyclists fell from his machine near to Ash Grove Farm on the A631.

The man, believed to be aged in his early 40’s from the Kirton-in-Lindsey area, was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary by the air ambulance.

He has since undergone surgery on his head injuries and remains in ICU in a critical condition.

Lincolnshire Police are investigating in an effort to establish what happened.

The investigating officer is Nigel Gasgoine of the Lincolnshire Police Collision Investigation Unit.

Nigel is appealing for witnesses who either saw the incident or the cyclists prior to it to contact him via the Collision Witness Hotline 01522 558855 quoting incident number 121 of February 12.
