This year's Emma-Jayne Bikeathon at Little Cawthorpe, near Louth will take place on Sunday, July 24.

The event raises funds for the Neurosurgical Unit, Ward 40 at Hull Royal Infirmary.

The fund was also set up by Sutton on Sea parents Ruth and Tony Knowles (both BEM) as a lasting legacy to remember their daughter Emma-Jayne who died from a brain tumour at just 22.

The event consists of a 12-mile and 30-mile bike ride, which set off from The Royal Oak, better known as The Splash, in Little Cawthorpe near Louth, at 11am.

There is also a 10K country run at 11.15am and a 4.5-mile fun walk from 11.20am that takes place on the day.

If you would like to take part, sponsor forms are available from Ruth and Tony Knowles by calling 01507 441347.

Or forms can be downloaded via: www.emma-jaynememorialfund.co.uk.

Even if you don’t have a bike, you can still take part, as Louth Cycle Centre provides free bike hire for the event.

To find out more information about the cycle hire, again give Ruth Knowles a call.

Please arrive in plenty of time on the day to get signed up for your chosen event.

There will even be two neurosurgeons, representing Hull Royal, who will be there on the day to support this year’s event.
