Diamond wedding anniversary for Waithe couple

Anniversary

Anniversary

Maisie and Jim Long of Waithe celebrated their Diamond Wedding when 16 members of the family joined them for a meal at The Jug and Bottle at Holton le Clay.

In 1943 at the age of 15, Maisie (nee Hasthorpe) moved with her family to Wiltshire where her father was farm forman.

Maisie worked on the same farm and also working there was a young man called Jim Long.

A little while later Jim took up lodging with Maisie and her family, and when they moved back to Lincolnshire Jim moved with them.

They became a couple and were married at Louth Registry Office on February 23 1954 and then in 1960 they had a son called Adrian.
