Disability Action Yorkshire 125 mile mobility scooter challenge from Harrogate to Louth

A MAN is to make a 24 hour journey on a mobility scooter from Harrogate to Louth.

Martyn Weller has worked out he must average 5.2mph to complete the 125 mile journey and he has special permission to ride over the Humber Bridge on the scooter using the cycle lane.

Martyn is chairman of Disability Action Yorkshire and will travel from the charity’s Harrogate headquarters to their new holiday lodge at Kenwick Park on June 30 and July 1.

As well as drawing attention to mobility issues facing disabled people, Martyn will be raising funds to help pay for the charity’s new holiday home, which is specially adapted for people with disabilities.
