Cycling fundraisers at DS Smith, Louth, are holding their annual family charity bike ride in aid of Louth and District Hospice later this month.
The event is being held at the Brackenborough Arms Hotel on Sunday September 14, and cyclists are invited to join the DS Smith pack as they make their way through the Lincolnshire Wolds.
To make the day suitable for all members of the family there are two courses to choose from, with a 10-mile course for beginners and a 30- mile course for more experienced cyclists.
There will also be a barbecue, bouncy castle, raffle and stalls available for participants and their families to enjoy.
Last year’s event attracted more than 120 participants and with the added interest in cycling created by the Tour de France starting in nearby Leeds this year, it is hoped that there will be even more people in this year’s ride, raising more money for such a worthy cause.
Mike Nicholas, managing director at DS Smith Louth said: “We are looking forward to another successful fundraising event this year as we all recognise the important role the hospice plays in the community.
Hospice trustee, Doreen Stephenson said: “Support from DS Smith in this way is a tremendous boost for everyone who is involved.
“This event is helping to raise funds for the benefit of palliative care patients, their families and carers who live in Louth and the neighbouring district.”
People interested in joining the ride can pre-register by contacting the DS Smith Louth team, or alternatively register by 10am on the day of the event. The 30-mile ride will be kicking off at 10.30am followed by the ten mile ride setting off at 11am.
The minimum entry fee is £10, with under 16s going free, and all the money raised will go directly to the Louth and District Hospice which is located next door to the DS Smith Louth site.
