Caroline Sanderson and Mick Slowey, her partner, have set off on an epic journey to cycle over 800 miles to raise money for The Lincolnshire Wolds Riding for the Disabled Group.
The duo from Louth started from Dinard and are due to arrive at Royan on September 27.
They will then leave on October 3 to follow the route de deux mers via Bordeaux following the canal du Garonne and canal du Midi to reach Sete on October 9 – it is a long, long way!
The total distance is just over 800 miles and the plan is to cover on average 60 miles per day.
They are being supported by their friends Peter and Sally Griffiths, and Blanche the cocker spaniel, who will make the trip by road.
All donations will be greatly appreciated and a Just Giving webpage has been created www.justgiving.com/lincolnshirewoldsrda, where regular updates will be given during the trip.
Carloline is a volunteer with the local RDA group, which uses the facilities at LRAC on Tuesday evenings.
Funds raised are being put towards the purchase of a trap for carriage driving, which they are hoping to be able to start in Spring 2014.
As a local charity they greatly appreciate any support they can receive from the surrounding community and encourage people to sponsor Caroline and Mick on their cycle ride.
