AN LOCAL entrepreneur is transforming some of Mablethorpe’s old beach huts by giving them a modern day touch.
Bobby Baldwin, owner of the Snack Shack, is renovating a number of derelict beach huts on the North Promenade.
He has already completed one, and has plans to develop more.
Coun Craig Leyland, of East Lindsey District Council, said he was delighted Bobby was investing in such a way and said the beach hut ‘remains alive and well on our coast’ as an important and popular visitor attraction.
“I am delighted that Mr Baldwin is investing in a number of beach huts in Mablethorpe,” he said.
“The beach hut remains alive and well on our coast and an important and popular visitor attraction. We need investment in our coastal resorts if they are to continue to thrive.
“The council has recently agreed to invest £90k to improve beach huts in Mablethorpe too, so our efforts, combined with Mr Baldwin’s, and the efforts of the wider business community, will hopefully give visitors another reason to come and the economy of the area an extra boost.”
