Sutton on Sea Cricket Club are hosting an evening with ex-England Cricketer Derek Randall and there is still time to get involved on the night.
The event is to be held this Saturday, February 1 at Seacroft Bar in Trusthorpe.
Doors will open at 7pm and the evening will commence at 7.30pm.
At the height of his career in the late 1970s, early 1980s, Derek Randall played 47 test matches and 49 one day internationals for England as a right-handed batsman before retiring in 1993 to become a coach and cricket writer.
Derek Randall is also known to be one of the most fondly admired figures in the game.
Sutton on Sea Cricket Club secretary and captain, Reece Brant said: “The aim of this event is to raise the profile of Sutton Sea Cricket Club.
“As the Club now runs four teams, it is our opportunity to showcase what the club has to offer not only in a playing capacity but in the wider community. It is our expectation that this special one off event will bring the community together for a wonderful evening.”
He added: “The event will be a fantastic opportunity to listen to one of the greatest fielder’s of all time talk about the game of cricket and share some of his most memorable experiences”
The evening will consist of a two course meal, a comedian, followed by a talk and question and answer session with Derek Randall himself.
The evening will then end with a raffle and an auction of cricket memorabilia.
Amongst the prize list is a signed Yorkshire County Cricket Club bat signed by all of the 2013 squad members together with a signed England cricket shirt that are all ready to be auctioned off during this once in a lifetime evening.
