Fake £20 notes in circulation in Louth area warn the police

Fake £20 notes are circulating in the Louth area.

Police have had reports from shops that two people have tried to spend the notes knowing them to be forgeries.

The first person is described as a white man, wearing a white t-shirt, grey hooded top, jeans and white trainers with short brown hair.

The other is described as a white female, aged late 30’s or early 40’s wearing a creamish jumper with pattern, with brown hair and of a large build. The two individuals have not been operating together but there have been reports in Louth town centre and surrounding villages.

PCSO Justin Mekkaoui, from the Louth Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Please take care to check any notes are genuine and if anyone does attempt to use such notes, please contact us immediately.”
