Floral art in East Barkwith
A demonstration of floral art with the title In Time for Christmas proved to be very popular when organised by Jane Perkins and members of the St Mary’s Church Committee in East Barkwith as a seasonal attraction in aid of funds.
The well known tutor of flower arranging Anne-Marie Snowden gave hints and tips as she prepared four different but delightful arrangements with Christmas in mind and explained how she had assembled two others she had taken along. All were in demand as prizes in the raffle which was run by Sheilah Finsham. She was very well rewarded with enthusiastic applause as thanks were recorded and tea, mince pies and cakes were served to the guests by Barbara Walker and Pauline Freer. The event was well supported in spite of the winter weather that deterred some but a welcome £270 was raised thanks to those who attended.
