Former Olympic swimmer Mark Foster to make waves at 11th annual literary festival

FORMER Olympian Mark Foster will headline the 11th annual Wolds Words Festival in Louth.

The former swimmer turned BBC television presenter will be talking about his sporting career and taking questions from the public as part of the event, held between October 17 and 21.

The diverse literary festival, organised by East Lindsey District Council, promises to once again transform Louth and its surrounding area into a literature hotspot.

Combining literature heavyweights with local talent, this year’s line-up of events, many of which are free, ensures that there is something for everyone.

For the bigger local picture, BBC Radio Lincolnshire farming presenter, Alan Stennent, will give an illustrated talk on the changes seen in agriculture over the past 100 years, and the future of farming.

Other highlights of this year’s festival include a great comedy line-up, including the hilarious act The Boy With Tape On His Face who passes the barriers of language and culture in a hysterical show which promises to keeping you laughing. Children will certainly be entertained with a wide variety of creative workshops such as stop-motion animation and pop-up book-making sessions.

Tickets are available now from the Riverhead Theatre and Louth Library and details are online at www.woldswords.org.uk.
