Fresh witness appeal after windows of Louth eaterie are smashed

A fresh appeal has been launched for information after a Louth business had its windows and back door smashed last weekend.

The damage happened at Royston’s Deli, in Mercer Row, between 1.30am and 1.50pm on Sunday, September 30.

According to witnesses, a domestic argument broke out with a crowd of people around the couple.

Police say someone is reported to have said: “Leave it, they are husband and wife,” before the woman involved in the fight then shouted “Jamie, Jamie, Jamie!”

Moments later two loud thumps were reported, which is when the windows were smashed.

On the same night Boots and an empty shop, both in Mercer Row, also had windows put through.

Police hope the witness report might jog the memory of someone else who might have information.

Anyone who can help should contact PC Jon Best at Louth Police Station on 101, quoting incident 85 of September 30.
