Funeral service collection for Lincolnshire Wolds Railway
A MAN’S love of trains has resulted in a boost to the coffers of a local steam railway.
Christine Davis from Ingoldmells, whose husband Paul died recently, has presented the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway in Ludborough with donations collected at his funeral service.
“Paul had a real passion for steam locomotives and wherever we went on holiday the first place we would head for was the nearest preserved railway,” said Christine. “We visited the Lincolnshire Wolds line regularly with the grandchildren and it was Paul’s wish that when he passed away the collection at his funeral should be given to the railway he loved.”
Christine made the presentation to the railway’s managing director Frank Street.
