Following on from last week’s A-Level results, Monks’ Dyke Tennyson College (MDTC) pupils have cause for further celebration following the release of their GCSE results.
Many students achieved fantastic results with over two thirds achieving at least 5 A*-C grades in their subjects; on the back of the well-publicised changes to exam marking affecting results nationally.
College Principal, Mr Mike Eyre said: “We are thrilled that once again our students have attained some exceptional results: it is a testament to their hard work and the support given by their teachers.
“I am very proud of our students and am confident that they now have the foundation in place to move on in the direction of their choice, whether it be continuing their studies or going into work.
“I wish them all the very best of luck in whatever they choose to do next and for the future.”
This year saw the average point score per student across all of their subjects increase from 342 points to 374 points.
Notable achievers include Amy Starbuck, a student at the Mablethorpe campus, who achieved 6.5 A*, 5As, 2Bs and 1C; and Danielle Jones, from the Louth campus, who gained 7.5A*, 4 As, and 1 B.
Both students have plans to continue to study their A -levels at MDTC in September.
These results mark the end of a transitional phase for MDTC: the merger of two campuses’.
Robbie Aldrich was really happy with his results after getting the A* he wanted in Sport amongst other results of Bs and Cs.
