Giant £300,000 silos will give Luxus a boost
LOUTH-based Luxus, the UK’s leading technical plastics recycling and compounding firm, has taken delivery of a further 12 giant aluminium silos at its plant on the Fairfield Industrial Estate.
The new 80 cubic metre silos, costing £300,000, will boost Luxus’ materials storage capacity to a massive 700 tonnes.
The investment will lead to improved materials handling, reduced wastage, lower costs and most importantly, increased safety for the 140 staff at the site.
Luxus managing director Peter Atterby said: “This latest purchase is part of our continued investment programme, which this year has already seen the initial construction phase of a new state of the art £600,000 laboratory, the purchase of a granulation line and later this month, the installation of new research and development extruders.
“Our continuing investment is yet further proof of the vibrant industrial base that exists locally. We’re proud to be operating here, particularly since Louth has recently been named the winner of the BBC Countryfile Magazine award for ‘favourite market town’.
“It demonstrates how successful industry is an integral part of the future for our market towns. It’s also great to receive national recognition for local businesses and we hope it will increase interest in Louth too.”
