Go along and say cheerio to popular Louth Rural policeman

PC Ian Clark, the Community Beat Manager for the Louth Rural policing team, is set to retire this summer after a career spanning almost '¨20 years.

Ian joined the force in 1997, having previously served for a long period with the Armed Forces.

He then completed his probationary training at Skegness, before relocating to Louth in 2000.

In 2002, Ian became the community beat officer for the North Somercotes area, before being appointed as Louth Rural policing team community beat manager shortly after the introduction of PCSOs to the force.

Ian told the Leader: “I have enjoyed my time here, and I have met a lot of lovely, genuine people that I am going to miss.”

Ian praised his Louth Rural colleagues, saying that they were a “very professional bunch of people with a real interest in neighbourhood policing.”

Ian will be at Holton le Clay Village Hall’s afternoon tea today (Tuesday July 5), and residents are welcome to go along and say goodbye between 2pm-4pm.

• There will also be an opportunity to meet Louth Rural’s new community beat manager, PC Richard Precious.
