The Mayor of Louth, Councillor Andrew Leonard, recently organised a sell-out charity golf day at Kenwick Golf Club to raise money for a range of good causes.

Coun Leonard donated all the food for the meal after play, so that the entire team entry proceeds went to the Mayor’s Charities Fund.

The meal was followed by a raffle and an auction, which raised thousands of pounds to benefit local community groups and organisations.

The highlight of the auction was a pledge from the Mayor to cater for eight people with wine at the home of the successful bidder.

A flurry of bidding followed which saw the fine dining event raise an amazing £1000.

Coun Leonard will choose which local charities will benefit from the Mayor’s Charities Fund at the end of his term as mayor.

The Mayor thanked Kenwick Golf Club, its staff, members and visitors for their generous support and said that the organisational success of the event was a tribute to the club and its staff.
