Great North Run delight for trip from Louth

THREE Louth residents had fantastic success in the world famous Great North Run this week.

Nikki Turner and Adrian Beech completed the half-marathon along with over 50,000 runners, raising over £500 for Beating Bowel Cancer. Nikki picked up a finishing time of two hours 22 minutes, narrowly beating Adrian’s time of two hours 31.

Meanwhile Louth Howden’s Joinery employee Rachel Allinson, 22, raced through the streets of Newcastle and Gateshead as part of a 25-strong company team.

Rachel hot-footed it over the finish line in two hours and two minutes to raise money for Leonard Cheshire Disability.

Charity spokesman Emma Barker said: “Rachel ran her socks off for Leonard Cheshire Disability to raise hundreds of pounds this weekend. This is a great achievement.”
