Grimoldby School bus lay-by
would reduce traffic congestion
A scheme to build a lay-by at the front of Grimoldby Primary School in Tinkle Street for the school bus looks set to go ahead.
As part of approval for an underground gas storage facility at Saltfleetby Wingas were required to contribute £20,000 to the school for an extension to the car park. Because extending the car park on to the school playing field could result in an objection from Sport England an alternative scheme was put forward for a bus lay-by.
Lincolnshire County Council are due to look at the plan on Monday. They have recommended it for approval.
A statement from council planners said the lay-by would help traffic along Tinkle Street during the Wingas construction and also reduce congestion outside the school ‘on a long-term basis.’
