Half an hour spent on garden shed debate by East Lindsey planners

East Lindsey planners spent half-an-hour debating a garden shed.

Located in the garden of Mendula Lodge, off Kenwick Pastures, it measures 2.4 metres x 2.4 metres, but neighbours complained that any rain run-off from the roof and hardstanding threatened to flood their properities.

However, their objections were rejected by the district council’s head of planning, David Loveday, who insisted measures were afoot for the water to be diverted into an attenuation system via guttering and water butt.

“The shed will create no additional problems,” he insisted.

The committee granted retrospective permission to the applicant, Mr B Krajnyak , whose agent, Eric Cooper, assured the committee: “The shed is smaller than the average saloon car.”
