Hotel opens on site of old care home in Mablethorpe

A HISTORIC former care home in Mablethorpe, which closed three years ago, has been turned into a modern hotel by its ambitious new owners.

Owners Steve and Michelle Robson began renovating the building in Queen’s Park Close, near to the seafront and Queen’s Park boating lake, back in October of last year.

But now the building has reopened to the public as a stylish 11-room hotel known as Beach Lodge Hotel.

It was originally a holiday home for disabled children back in the 1930s and more recently a care home for people with mental health problems, but closed in 2009.

“We like to think we have helped with the regeneration of Mablethorpe by taking an empty property and turning it into a different type of bed and breakfast for Mablethorpe,” Michelle explained.
