Housing development in North Thoresby

A controversial development scheme for part of a field in North Thoresby has been given the green light.

Despite objections from at least 14 residents about flood risk and other issues, East Lindsey planners approved an application by Rural Affordable Homes to build six houses and four bungalows on land to the west of Wolds View on High Street in the village.

According to the applicants, the intention is for four of the new homes to be offered for sale on a shared ownership basis with the remaining six being for affordable rent.

To encourage birdlife, it is being proposed that nesting boxes and cups should be provided either under the eaves of the new properties or elsewhere on the site for the benefit of declining species such as swifts, house martins and house sparrows.
