If Jemma can do it then so can you say Prince’s Trust
A life line is being offered to young people in Louth wanting to start their own business.
The Prince’s Trust is to hold a four day series of free Enterprise workshops in Louth from March 18 to 21 at the Louth Enterprise Centre.
“The aim of the event is to support and sustain an entrepreneurial culture amongst young people living in Louth and surrounding area, raising their aspirations and presenting business start-up as a realistic life choice,” said Trudy Roberts of The Prince’s Trust.
“These workshops have been specifically designed for those aged 18 to 30 who are unemployed or working less than 16 hours.”
The trust will be offering 600 new start-up loans to young entrepreneurs this year, after securing £1.65m in funding from the Start-Up Loans Company.
Jemma Smith, from Alford, benefited from a Princes Trust Explore Enterprise Workshop in 2012 for her idea of offering mobile nail technician services.
She was awarded a Biz start up loan of £500 to put towards stock and a further £1,500 for equipment and marketing.
Jemma said of her experience with PT: “There was so much to learn & develop in the enterprise programme; I could never of dreamed of running my own business yet alone successfully, without the support that I have received from the Princes Trust. It gave me confidence.”
