Improved education in Mablethorpe thanks to new partnership

Further opportunities to provide education in the Mablethorpe area will come to fruition after a partnership between Mablethorpe College, North Lindsey College and East Lindsey District Council

Currently the college is offering Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy for up to 50 students but new salon facilities of ‘the highest standard’ have been developed in the business centre to ensure that the students of Mablethorpe can access a high quality learning experience on their doorstep.

North Lindsey College is an outstanding college as graded by Ofsted in 2010, and is delivering high quality provision in Mablethorpe in partnership with Mablethorpe College.

The official opening on Monday brings together Doreen Stephenson, leader of the district council, Anne Tyrrell, principal of North Lindsey College and Jane Sweeney, head of school of hair and beauty at Mablethorpe College, to welcome councillors, council officials, students and business partners to what we envisage is the first step of an exciting educational journey for this area of East Lincolnshire.

Mrs Tyrrell said: “We are delighted to work with Mablethorpe College on this joint venture.

“We hope these exciting new facilities will enhance the learning experience for all current and future hairdressing and beauty therapy students in the region.”

Leader of East Lindsey District Council, coun Doreen Stephenson, who will help officially open the facility, added: “I am delighted that by working with North Lindsey College and Mablethorpe College we can support the community with new learning and development opportunities.

“This can only be good for the future of the local area.

“We wish the college and it students every success.”
