The Inner Wheel Club of Louth has given Louth Hospice an exercise bike worth £200, following a number of fundraising events. President Gwenda Burgin said: “Inner Wheel celebrates 90 years this year, and we were encouraged to buy something with a wheel on it.

“We decided to raise money for the hospice, so Nicky Ingall [General Manager at St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice] asked around and came up with the idea.”

The Inner Wheel Club held events to raise money at their monthly meetings, including raffles and competitions.

Emma Cookson, a physiotherapist at Louth Hospice, said: “It’s really important for people with terminal illness to take part in normal activities, and the exercise bike will add to our exercise facilities appropriately.

“People don’t think of a hospice as a place for exercise, but it’s such an important part of what we do.”

Louth Hospice staff thanked the Inner Wheel Club for their wonderful donation.

St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice offers day therapy to people with life-limiting conditions. Call 01522 518219 for more information on the services they offer.
