Join in Bobble Day to help keep people warm

Staff and volunteers at the Age UK shop in Eastgate will be wearing their winter woolies for Bobble Day.

Age UK Louth is encouraging everyone in the area to join in and help warm up Britain for Age UK’s day on Friday February 8.

People across the country will be getting involved in this annual fundraising extravaganza, raising money to help make winter warmer for older people who are suffering needlessly at this time of year.

The 54 Eastgate shop will be reducing all hats and scarves to £1 for the day and a tombola will also be running.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness about the importance of staying warm, and to make it a little more affordable to do.

Fluffy bobbles are available for a suggested donation of £1 from the shop

The shop manager at Age UK Louth said: “Taking part in Bobble Day is simple and fun. Whether people join us in the shop or organise their own winter warming activity, everyone will be helping to raise vital funds for people in later life.

“We want to encourage as many people as possible in East Lindsey to get involved and help us to warm up Britain this winter.”

Money raised from Bobble Day 2013 will go towards Age UK’s Spread the Warmth campaign. Age UK and its local and national partners are working to keep older people warm and well.

Age UK is providing social activities and contact for older people, as well as tips on combating the cold at home and outdoors. The charity is keeping people warm and safe at home, giving out hot nutritious meals and offering information and advice 365 days a year.
