Six pupils from King Edward VI Grammar School have been selected to represent Lincolnshire at the Anglian Schools Cross Country Championships next week, following some impressive results in the recent county championships.
Three boys from Year Seven qualified to take part in the Anglian championships, which take place on Saturday February 1, following the county championships at Caythorpe earlier this month. Jevon George-Jones was crowned champion is his category, followed by Joe Vickers in second place and Jake Goddard in eighth place.
In the Year 10 and 11 category, Charlie Spencer came seventh, and Robert Lynam came 12th. Emily Patch achieved eighth place in the Sixth Form girls category.
Emily and Charlie will also be taking part in the English Schools’ Athletics Associations championships in March.
King Edward VI’s Head of PE, Mr Standing, said: “We have great hopes for our athletes, particularly the Year Seven boys squad. They’ve been taking part in extra sessions, which shows their dedication.
“Please watch out for further results in future.”
