Laceby division Trefoil Guild World Thinking Day celebration in Louth
Laceby Division Trefoil Guild hold a World Thinking Day Celebration on Friday February 22 at the ConocoPhillips Room, Louth Library.
Any woman who has been involved with guides will be very welcome. The event will be held from 12.45pm to 2.15pm and light refreshments will be served.
World Thinking Day is the day when anyone involved with the movement, all over the world, remembers the founder of Scouting and Guiding, Lord Baden-Powell, and his wife, Olave, who shared a birthday on February 22.
The theme of the day this year is based on Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5, based around reducing child mortality and improving maternal health. Laceby Guild will have a poster exhibition based around this theme. There will also be a small display of members’ own Guiding memorabilia, which will undoubtedly remind any visitors of their own time in guiding, whether recent or long ago.
Laceby Trefoil Guild has members from Grimsby, Immingham and Market Rasen, as well as Louth.
Secretary Margaret Osborne said: “We hope that there are lots of women in Louth who have happy memories of their time in Guiding, and we would love to meet them at this special celebration.”
