Local businesses in Lincolnshire are being urged to take part in the Macmillan Three Month Business Challenge.
Macmillan Cancer Support hopes to raise much needed monies by challenging local companies to take part in a fundraising challenge from March 1 to May 31.
Macmillan will provide every company that signs up with a fundraising pack and the means to raise £20 to get them started.
The challenge then is to turn that £20 into as much as possible using their fundraising initiatives and entrepreneurial skills.
Local Fundraising Manager for Lincolnshire, Tanya Taylor explained: “Here in Lincolnshire we are currently struggling to meet the needs of our local community and we need help.”
“If 50 businesses took on this challenge and raised £1,000 each we would have enough money to potentially fund a new nurse in Lincolnshire, and it doesn’t have to be complicated as the simplest ideas often work the best and we will be here to help support each business.
“I am certain that at the end of the three months everyone that will have taken part will not only have had a great deal of fun but will have been part of something very special to help make a huge difference to the people of Lincolnshire affected by cancer.”
Macmillan Cancer Support want as many firms as possible across Lincolnshire to take part in the challenge and the company that raises the most will become the Macmillan Lincolnshire Business Challenge Winners of 2013 to be announced and presented with a trophy.
