Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue to recruit 10 new firefighters
Ever dreamt of being a firefighter? For the first time in five years Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is recruiting!
The service is looking to recruit up to 10 new wholetime firefighters to be assigned throughout the county, and applications will open on Monday.
The service will accept 500 full-time Ffrefighter applications with an additional 150 being placed on a holding list.
Recruitment manager Shona Wright said: “Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue is looking for committed people to help provide the best possible service to the community.
“Being a firefighter is a demanding and challenging role. We’re looking for a combination practical ability, mental resilience, courage, physical fitness and the ability to remain calm and focused in difficult circumstances.”
Candidates will be assessed against the National Firefighter Selection Tests, which assess physical ability and fitness, working with numbers, situational awareness and problem solving.
Personal qualities and attributes will also contribute to the selection process.
Cllr Peter Robinson, executive councillor for community safety, says: “Serving as a Firefighter is an incredibly rewarding career. Our Firefighters play a key role in keeping our communities safe by undertaking both preventative and reactive work.
“As well as dealing with fires, helping at road accidents, flooding or other natural disasters, they also educate the community on fire prevention.”
Applications will be accepted from 7am on Monday, 25 February. A recruitment guide and application forms are available online at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/lfr.
