Mablethorpe is the hosting town of Lincolnshire’s first Aerial Performance Championships, which will take place on August 30.
The championships will be held in Quebec Road in the town at Russell’s International Circus whilst they are in town for the summer season.
This is the first event of its kind to take place in the area and there are still a few places available to compete.
There are six categories to choose from and includes entries for both the professional and amateur.
One category is already full, but there is the potential to be put in as a reserve if a competitor drops out for any reason.
The categories include: Amateur Lyra, Professional Lyra, Amateur Static Trapeze, Professional Trapeze, Amateur Silks, Professional Silks.
The deadline for entries for the competition is August 1.
Organiser of the event, Emma Nicholls, is the founder of Freestyle Fitness Alternative Dance and Fitness Studio based in Louth.
She said: “I decided to organise this event to allow my students to experience performing to an audience and also to demonstrate some of the skills and talent we have locally.
“The competition has also been opened up nationally, so others can compete as well.”
To apply for a place in the championships you can visit: www.freestyle-fitness.co.uk or call 07919 133355.
Emma added: “We are also hoping to make it an annual event and will hopefully expand the categories next year to include under 13s and doubles.”
