Lincolnshrie Waste Partnership compost bin promotion

The Lincolnshire Waste Partnership has teamed up with getcomposting.com to provide a buy one, get one half price offer on home compost bins. Composting your garden and kitchen waste will provide a free supply of nutritious soil conditioner to help your garden bloom next year. Adding compost encourages better growth in flowers, fruit and vegetables.

It also helps to reduce carbon emissions, and cuts down the amount of waste sent to landfill.

All you need for good quality compost is mixture of ingredients. Ideally it should be a 50/50 mix of green garden waste, vegetable peelings, old flowers, grass cuttings, and ‘browns’, garden prunings, coffee grounds, tissues and paper napkins, shredded cardboard and even vacuum cleaner dust.

Victoria Frodsham, sustainability education officer said, “Making your own compost is a great way of transforming ordinary household waste into something very useful. It also cuts down the amount of waste going into bins and ultimately landfill sites. The great offer price for these compost bins means that most households should be able to start composting.”

To encourage households to home compost, Lincolnshire County Council, in partnership with getcomposting.com, are offering reduced price compost bins. To order your compost bin call 0844 571 4444 quoting reference LCC05L or visit online at www.getcomposting.com
