The Lindsey Scribes Society had a workshop on illuminated calligraphic postcards lead by an outstanding person Veiko Kespersaks who is recognised world wide for his range of work.
Not only has he a thriving calligraphy and lettering business in London, but he also teaches in the city and also commutes at week-ends round the country and also to his other home near Helsinki, Finland to teach. The quality of his letters and imaginative design and his knowledge of materials and equipment was an inspiration to everyone there. He has also produced a book setting out a course to enable people to commence and develop skills as calligraphers.
Society, of which I am secretary and which has members from all over Lincolnshire who are calligraphers and illuminaters, has met for over twenty years mostly in Louth at the PhilippsConoco Room. Workshops are held for a day for three or four times a year with some of the limited number of leading calligraphers in the country as demonstrators.
