Local groups benefit from latest round of councillor grants
A number of organisations in the Louth and Mablethorpe area will benefit from the latest round of grants from the district’s councillors.
The Councillor Community Grants scheme sees the 60 East Lindsey District Councillors each receive an allowance to award funding to local community projects.
In the latest round, some of our local groups have been given a helping hand from their ward councillors.
• Louth St James councillor Pauline Watson has given £250 to Louth Town Football Club Juniors for the purchase of new football goals.
• Louth councillor Jill Makinson-Sanders has given £125 to Louth and District Help for Homeless for the purchase of essential equipment for people in need in the local community, with the aim of preventing people becoming homeless.
• Skidbrooke and Saltfleet Haven councillor Sandra Harrison has given £185 to Saltfleetby Parish Council to help renovate the benches donated to the community by the Millennium Committee.
• Mablethorpe councillor Graham Cullen has given £150 to the Community Voluntary Car Service for an office refurbishment.
• Mablethorpe East councillor Tony Howard has given £100 to Friendship Lincs, which is a registered charity. The money will be used for the hire of a coach to take members of the group on a day trip.
• Trusthorpe councillor Stuart Watson has given £200 to the Trusthorpe Project Management Group for the purchase of plants and hanging baskets.
