‘Lorry’ diesel spill gives drivers a headache on Louth road

A MYSTERY fuel spill in Louth made for slippery driving conditions for motorists on Wednesday night.

Police and highways attended the A157 near Kenwick Park Hotel at 6.10pm to deal with reports of diesel on the road.

Passer by Mark Benson posted on his Twitter account to warn people about the ‘very slippery’ mixture of diesel and rainwater on the road.

He said: “It looked like a diesel spillage from an overfilled lorry. It seemed to peter out at the Kenwick Hotel turning down the hill.

“It was like glass on the A157 exit side.”

Lincolnshire Police said there was no indication of the cause of the spillage, but confirmed it was cleaned up by 9pm.
