Louth area oil field produces 120 barrels a day

AN onshore oil field near Louth is continuing to produce substantial quantities of ‘black gold’.

According to operators Egdon Resources plc, the rate of between 100 and 125 barrels per day from its site at Keddington is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.

The company says it s hoping to utilise gas produced from the same field to sell power to the national grid once it has constructed an electricity generation plant which could be ‘in the very near future’.

Based in Hampshire, Egdon also has energy exploration interests in other parts of Lincolnshire and the East Midlands, Dorset and France.

Based on seismic data, it says it has identified a potential onshore gas field near North Somercotes and has secured landowner consent to drill an exploration well subject to permission being granted once it has submitted a planning application.
