An author from Louth, whose debut book soared to the top of the Amazon best-sellers chart, will be signing copies in Louth bookshop ‘Bookaholics’ this weekend.
Rosalyn Spencer’s book, ‘Why I Started a Small School’ tells the real life story of Rosalyn’s personal struggle against the UK’s education system, and how she overcame these difficulties when she became the driving force behind the setting up of a non-fee paying ‘alternative’ small school over 20 years ago.
Rosalyn opened the new school with just 12 children and virtually no funding, unlike generously-funded ‘free schools’ as we know them today.
The book demonstrates some of the failings of the education system and highlights the need for alternative approaches.
The book, which is the first in a three part series, was published in eBook form back in March 2013 and soon soared to the very top of the Amazon best-sellers list.
The paperback edition published last month, and retails at £9.99 .
• Visit the Bookaholics shop at 22 Eastgate this Saturday (July 12) between 11am and 2pm to meet Rosalyn and get a signed copy of the book.
