Louth lady Sharon Walker-Hall has had her head shaved to raise money for Cancer Research UK, having suffered from breast cancer herself.

Sharon, 49, had wanted to do the Louth Race For Life, which will take place in June, but she is not well enough to take part.

Instead, she went along to The Gaff in Cornmarket on Saturday afternoon (March 29) and had all her hair shaved off for charity.

Sharon said: “The head shave was good, and I am glad to do anything to give a bit back. I don’t know how much was raised yet, as we had charity tubs so people filled them. I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone.

“I was a lucky one, and with God’s help, I survived.”
