Louth magistrate Eileen Ballard, who is also a Louth Town Councillor, has received an official reprimand from the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office following an investigation into her behaviour towards a member of the public.
In an official statement, a spokesman for the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office said: “Mrs Eileen Ballard, a magistrate on the Lincolnshire Bench, was subject to an investigation into her behaviour towards a member of the public.
“The Lord Chancellor and Mr Justice Leggatt, on behalf of the Lord Chief Justice, concluded that her behaviour amounted to misconduct and have issued her with a reprimand.”
The exact nature of the misconduct is not known, due to Judicial Conduct Investigations Office’s strict confidentiality rules.
Mrs Ballard refused to comment on the matter.
