Louth Duplicate Bridge Club taster night thanks to Active at 60 grant
LOUTH Duplicate Bridge Club held its third beginners and improvers night at Elizabeth Court on September 4.
Club members partnered beginners and the event was won by Martin Sizer and Norman Abell sitting North/South with a score of 63.1 per cent and Deirdre Fell and Jean Lee sitting East/West with a score of 61.9 per cent.
The full results can be found on the club’s website at www.bridgewebs.com/louth/
The beginners and improvers were able to see the club scoring technology in use in a relaxed atmosphere without the normal pressures of a competitive club night’s play.
The technology was bought with the help of a grassroots Active at 60 grant, and the beginners and improvers have also benefited from access to text books about learning bridge which were bought with a grant from Active at 60.
To encourage more people in the Louth area to consider learning to play bridge so benefits from the grants can reach out even further, Louth Duplicate Bridge Club is hosting a free bridge taster night at Elizabeth Court on Tuesday, September 18, at 6.30pm.
