THE current and future generations of students at King Edward VI Grammar School in Louth will benefit from £3million of fresh investment into the school’s infrastructure.

The school have announced a redevelopment plan to be completed by 2015.

Ove the course of the project the humanities department, sixth form centre and drama studio will undergo refurbishment work and a new kitchen, dining hall and performance and community space will be built.

This adds to already completed work on the art, design and graphics centre.

School head James Lascelles remarked that year five pupils arriving at King Edward’s for open days often describe the school has being like Hogwarts with its boarding roots, ancient buildings and green spaces creating this impression.

Like Hogwarts, common rooms for school houses is one of the features planned over the next few years to build upon its already outstanding reputation for pastoral care and enrichment.

“One parent described the school in the recent outstanding Ofsted inspection as ‘my child’s other home’ and the school wants to continue to build upon this strong family ethos,” said Mr Lascelles.
