The Louth Leader is launching a campaign this week to help improve the lives of rescued animals at the Ark Animal Rescue and Retirement Home this winter. Following successful campaigns in previous years, we are once again asking our readers to help through donations of bedding and food.

Donations can be brought to the Louth Leader office in Eastgate, where they will then be collected by volunteers. The campaign will run until early February.

Sue Rice, who runs the Ark, said that last year’s campaign was “a great success”.

The Ark is requesting bedding (no feathers please), duvets, pillows, cushions, blankets, sheets, old curtains, towels, hay, cat food, meat, biscuits, kitten food and dog food (tinned and dry), rabbit and guinea pig food, and carrots for horses, rabbits, goats and the pig
