Louth Male Voice Choir welcomes young and old

THE award-winning Louth Male Voice Choir, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in its coming season of concerts, is launching a boys’ choir.

A taster session for any boy interested is to be held in the Mansion House, Upgate, Louth, at 4.15pm on September 18.

LMVC chairman Malcolm Kerridge said: “The Male Voice Choir is keen to build on the wonderful work that has been going on at Kidgate School. The members of their Boys’ Choir have really enjoyed singing and we hope to be able to extend their opportunities by developing a choir that will, on occasion, sing with the Senior Choir. Our message to all the boys of Louth is: come along and give it a try, it’s fun listening to music but much more fun to make it.

“We are hoping that secondary school boys in years 7, 8 and 9 will join, and in the longer term when their voices break, we will be aiming to set up an intermediate group.”

Local music teacher, Mrs Colette Cooper, will lead the boys’ choir.

The Male Voice Choir is also keen to recruit new members and on September 18 at 7.30pm, also in the Mansion House, the LMVC is to hold a taster session for anyone considering joining. Call Malcolm Kerridge or 01507 607371 or visit www.louthmvc.co.uk
