Grant Kelly of Kiln Lane, admitted driving without insurance or the appropriate driving licence when he appeared at Skegness Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (May 24).

Jim Clare, prosecuting, said he had taken the Yamaha motor cycle on the afternoon of March 26 and had crashed it in Westgate, after which he was arrested.

The court was told that he had just completed a six month driving ban imposed in September.

Kelly, who was not represented, told the court he was living off his mother and had been unemployed for 18 months but had ‘not got around to signing on’.

He was fined a total of £240 and ordered to pay charges and costs of £109 and six penalty points were put on his licence.
