Rudkin had been charged with assaulting the woman and being in possession of a small quantity of cannabis, a Class B drug, in Virginia Drive, Louth, on February 29.

He pleaded guilty to both offences at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on April 7.

For the assault, he was fined £230 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation to the victim. He was also ordered to pay £85 in court costs and a £23 victim surcharge.

He faced no separate penalty for the drugs offence, and the cannabis was confiscated and destroyed.

Rudkin had faced two additional charges after failing to appear at Skegness Magistrates’ Court two days earlier - which had led to a warrant being issued for his arrest - but these charges were withdrawn in court.
