A Louth man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm.

Matthew Thomas McNee, 31, of Tennyson Road in Louth, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday June 9, where he pleaded guilty to assaulting Andrew West in a flat in Newmarket on December 18 last year.

The victim suffered serious facial injuries in the unprovoked attack, and had footwear marks on his face and body when he was taken to hospital, consistent with being stamped on.
