Louth’s former jam factory to be replaced by flats

A PIECE of Louth’s industrial heritage looks set to be demolished after planning permission was granted.

Rodanto Ltd have been granted consent by East Lindsey District Council to knock down the old warehouse, buildings and house in Cinder Lane, including the chimney stack which, before the decision, looked likely to be kept intact

The site was used as a saw mill in the mid 19th century and then as a jam factory.

Another separate planning application by Rodanto Ltd to build a detached building consisting of six flats and communal garden area in Cinder Lane was also given the green light.

Meanwhile permission has also been granted by planners for 13 new homes in Quarry Road, off Upgate, in Louth.
